Jumpers & Jazz Tour Itinerary
Day 1
Friday – Pickup / Tour / Dinner / Accommodation.
We greet you at your home in the morning and head to the Glengallan Homestead & Heritage Centre for a fascinating tour of the historic property. This 1867 sandstone mansion was restored from ruin in 2001, and now offers a unique window onto the history of southern Queensland. You
can also enjoy a delicious lunch in their café.
Moving on, we travel through Legume to our next stop at the beautiful Aloomba Lavender Farm. Discover more varieties of and uses for lavender than you ever knew existed, while enjoying expansive views and the opportunity to buy locally made produce and gifts.
Then it’s time to relax on the final leg of our journey to our accommodation in Stanthorpe.
The High Street Motel & Steakhouse will be our home for the next three nights. Happy hour is at 5.30pm, and we enjoy dinner together after. Finally, a good night’s rest, so everyone is refreshed for the next exciting day.
Day 2
Saturday – Breakfast / Jumpers & Jazz Festival / Wine Tasting / Dinner / Accommodation
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before we set out for the Jumpers & Jazz Festival. With so much to see, from performances and parades to markets and munchies, you’ll be swept away by this extravaganza of music and colour. Enjoy the festival at your own pace, and don’t stress about seeing everything—we’ll be back again tomorrow!
Dinner tonight is at the award-winning Varias Restaurant, which is part of the Queensland College of Wine Tourism.
We will enjoy a special wine tasting in addition to our meal, led by members of this state-of-the-art college, before relaxing in front of the open fire.
Day 3
Sunday – Breakfast / Dinner / Accommodation
After breakfast at our accommodation, we return to Warwick for another day enjoying the festival. Continue exploring the textile art exhibitions and makers’ markets, tracking down all the
“yarn-bombed” trees, and enjoying performances from talented local and visiting musicians.
It’s incredible how much there is to see and do each year.
Tonight, we liven things up with a different kind of festivities—a Christmas in July dinner! Don
your paper hats and make merry with us over a warming Christmas meal.
Day 4
Monday – Breakfast / Wine Tasting / \Museum Entry
This morning we enjoy time in Stanthorpe.
After breakfast, there will be an opportunity to explore
the delightful Christmas shop and other local treasures before we head out to one of Stanthorpe’s many fantastic wineries.
Tantalise your taste buds and stock up on your favourites at
the cellar door before we head north.
Once we hit the road, we pass through Ma Ma Creek on our way to the Queensland Transport Museum, which boasts an impressive collection of historic vehicles and model replicas ready to transport you through time. The exhibits here are ever-changing, and each visit takes you on a new adventure.
Lunch is available at the museum (for those of us not still stuffed like the Christmas Turkey!).
Day 4 also means it’s time to return to the Sunshine Coast and say goodbye. We’ll wave you off at your home, and look forward to seeing you next time.
