See in stunning clarity using state-of-the-art live astrophotography, level up your naked-eye viewing with the guidance of expert astronomers, and even take home beautiful silhouette portraits shot against the backdrop of the Milky Way. The Sunshine Coast Hinterland, now including Queensland’s first internationally recognised Dark Sky Reserve, is a world-class stargazing location. The crystal clarity of our winter skies is the best time to see the cosmos in all its splendour! Mystic Mountain Tours visits exclusive, nature-based locations on dates within the darkest phases of the moon, so that you can make the most of these unspoiled skies.

We also run special one-off tours for astral phenomena such as meteor showers, unusual appearances of the moon, and other stargazing occasions. “Watch this space” for upcoming events!

Recommended Fitness

These tours require a basic fitness level to enjoy. We will walk on grass at our outdoor viewing areas to access telescopes, rest areas, and more. Some types of telescope are best accessed via a small step ladder, although other viewing options will be available. Seating will be provided. Please contact us to learn more if you have accessibility concerns.

Good to Know

Warm layers are a must—it will get cold under the clear sky! We will also move around using minimal lighting during the dark sky experience (red light to preserve our night vision).

Dinner and/or refreshments will be available during your tour. Please refer to your itinerary for inclusions and options.
