We run regular stargazing tours during the darkest phases of the moon to give you the best views of deep space, plus special one-off tours for astral phenomena such as meteor showers, unusual appearances of the moon, and other stargazing occasions. “Watch this space” for upcoming events!

We can also plan private group bookings. Talk to us about your group’s interests and dates, and astronomer Tyson will advise on the wonders our night skies can offer you.

Explore our Dark Sky Reserve in stunning Bortel 3-4 rated clarity

The Sunshine Coast Hinterland Dark Sky Reserve was years in the making, with support from so many locals. It now provides a place of peace for you to connect with nature beneath the crystal clarity of our winter skies.

This world-class stargazing location is protected from the nearby lights of the Sunshine Coast by the Blackall Range, remaining beautifully unspoiled. We are thrilled that it has now been accredited as a world-class stargazing location.

Recommended Fitness

These tours require a basic fitness level to enjoy. We will walk on grass at our outdoor viewing areas to access telescopes, rest areas, and more. Some types of telescope are best accessed via a small step ladder, although other viewing options will be available. Seating will be provided. Please contact us to learn more if you have accessibility concerns.

Good to Know

Warm layers are a must—it will get cold under the clear sky! We will also move around using minimal lighting during the dark sky experience (red light to preserve our night vision).

Dinner and/or refreshments will be available during your tour. Please refer to your itinerary for inclusions and options.
