Fanfare & Flight
Fanfare & Flight
Sunday 2 August 2026
A soaring showcase of classical music in the heart of South Bank
Join friendly faces on the Mystic Mountain bus as we spirit you away to QPAC for a stirring performance of classical music. Led by stellar conductor Tianyi Lu, this concert opens with two commanding fanfares: Copland’s iconic tribute to the common man, and Joan Tower’s powerful counterpoint for the uncommon woman. Chausson’s Poème follows unfolding in a single arc of introspective beauty.
From there, we enter the rich world of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. You’ll hear selections from all four acts from the sweeping dances and tender scenes to the dramatic character pieces, all woven into one unforgettable program.
This Music on Sundays concert is shared with us by entertaining hosts to give you richer context and enhance your appreciation.
