Now including pickup and return at gathering points around the Sunshine Coast, a stunning sunset experience overlooking the Glass House Mountains, and time to enjoy the historic Maleny Hotel before venturing out under the stars, this will truly be one to remember. It’s also our final Dark Sky viewing experience for the season, so take this opportunity for crystal-clear sights before the summer clouds and haze roll in.

26 JULY 2024 — Join us for the second Dark Sky Experience, this time taking place in the unspoiled darkness of the Maleny Golf Club at night. If you missed our inaugural session, then here is your next chance for a look at the astonishing night sky visible through the crystal clear mountain air of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Guided in viewing by expert astronomers with state-of-the-art telescopes, you will be able to see and appreciate so much more than is visible with the naked eye, in more light-polluted areas, or observed alone. Wrap up warm and prepare to be amazed!

7 JUNE 2024 — Beyond the city limits and the bright suburban lights, the broad night sky of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland opens into an uninterrupted canvas of astral wonders, where the universe comes alive before your eyes. Join us in our corner of a proposed 900-square-kilometre Dark Sky Reserve as we introduce you to knowledgeable astronomers who will guide you in viewing through state-of-the-art telescopes to explore our stunning night sky for yourself. Accompanied by an illuminating welcome presentation with drinks and nibbles in a relaxed small-group atmosphere, these experiences will open your eyes to the wonders of the cosmos.
